Printmaking Workshops
Printmaking Workshop series, 2015/2016
Preschool/Elementary (4-10), Middle School (11-13) and Adult designed workshops, in collaboration with artist Martha Sakellariou in Palo Alto and Mountain View, California.
These were fundraising events for our local schools, and each workshop was adapted to suit the specific age group. Using rubber stamps, scratch foam and iron-on transfers on paper and fabric, we encouraged experimentation and play. The participants created fun printed tote bags and seasonal wrapping paper.
Power of Pattern Intersession, 2017
A one week ‘Intersession’ workshop in collaboration with graphic designer Susi Mehar at the Girls’ Middle School in Palo Alto, California.
Susi and I designed this course to explore the beauty of pattern, a subject we are both passionate about! The students worked through daily exercises interspersed with regular discussion and critiques. They developed their sketch books, explored repeats, played with collage, and experimented with various relief printing techniques - from printing with vegetables to carving their own rubber stamps.
