#2293 CutOuts Print
10x14” Letterpress relief print (unframed)
Limited Edition of 40
Oil based inks on Cranes Lettra 110 paper
Printed by The Aesthetic Union in San Francisco, on a Vandercook 219 press
#2293 CutOuts is a simple site-specific composition comprised of shapes observed in a mid century modern Eichler home, within which it was exhibited. The negative central circle represents a hanging globe ceiling light, the wood-textured shapes are derived from the structural interior and wood-panelled walls of the room, the black area represents the shape of the darkened corridor beyond. Added in contrast, the pop of the red back of an Eames chair.
I was interested in exploring the idea of atmosphere through abstraction and how you could represent the architecture, as well as the feeling and warmth of a home through seemingly disparate abstract elements.
Each print is signed and numbered from an edition of 40 and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.
This piece is also available from The Aesthetic Union in San Francisco. If ordering from the U.S. please contact them directly for availability at info@theaestheticunion.com.
